How net salary is calculated in the Czech Republic
З брутто утримують social insurance 7.1% (pension 6.5% and sickness 0.6%), health insurance — 4.5% (one third of the total 13.5%) and advance tax payment of 15%. The tax is calculated from the gross amount, rounded up to the nearest hundred CZK.
Tax declaration — the main factor that changes the amount
With a signed declaration (prohlášení poplatníka), the monthly tax is reduced by 2 570 Kč — the taxpayer relief.
Child tax relief: 1 267 Kč per month for the first child, 1 860 Kč — for the second, 2 320 Kč — for the third and each subsequent child. Only for children living with you in the EU.
If the child tax relief is higher than the tax, the difference is paid out as a tax bonus (from 50 Kč, provided the monthly salary is at least 11 200 Kč).
The declaration is signed with only one employer. Without it, 2 570 Kč more will be withheld from 22 400 Kč; part of this can be refunded in the annual tax return if you submit the documents by February 15.
