It is easy to calculate the Lithuanian salary yourself: 20% tax, 19.5% contributions, and a tax-free allowance that reduces tax on lower salaries.
Salaries are paid at least twice a month (once a month — only upon your request), and the monthly settlement is made no later than 10 working days after its end. Every month, the employer provides a payslip showing the accrued amount, deductions, hours worked, and overtime separately.
Annual tax returns are filed by May 1 of the following year; overpayments are refunded by July 31. If you did not work the entire year, changed jobs, or did not have the tax-free minimum applied monthly, the tax return often refunds part of the tax.
